In the age of ‘ no waste ‘ it is worth taking advantage of the possibility of using old bread.
Simple dumplings, an alternative to pasta or rice for broth. by adding bacon they change the taste of the soup. Personally, I cook noodles in a separate part of the broth, after cooking I add a separate decoction.
Ingredients
- 1/2 kg stale bread
- 150 g smoked bacon
- 200 ml milk
- 1/2 onion
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 3 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- meat broth ( broth )
- parsley
- salt
Bread cut into cubes, discard the crust. Dice the bacon and chop the onion finely.
Fry the onion and oil in a frying pan, fry the bacon separately for a few minutes.
Put the bread, bacon, onion and pour milk into the bowl. Add flour, eggs, a pinch of salt, finely chopped parsley. Mix.
Form dumplings in damp hands and cook in boiling broth for about 15 minutes.
Serve hot with broth, chop with parsley.
