Garlic baby broccoli (broccolini)

A simple recipe for fried broccoli with garlic slices and hot pepper flakes is the perfect addition to dinner.

Baby broccoli is a vegetable, often called bimby or twig broccoli or broccolini. It is a hybrid of broccoli and Chinese broccoli. This vegetable is not often seen on Polish store shelves.

This vegetable is easy to prepare and has little waste. You just need to cut off the very end and it’s ready.

Ingredients

gave 2 people

  • 1 bunch of baby (twig) broccoli – 250g
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • salt and pepper
  • juice of half a lemon

Rinse the broccoli and cut off the ends (about 1 cm). Dry thoroughly.

Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and spread it all over the surface. Add broccoli and fry until lightly browned. – approx. 5 minutes.

Cut the garlic into thin slices.

Add the garlic, paprika flakes, salt and pepper to the pan. Fry for 30 seconds. Then add water, cover and cook for 1-2 minutes.

At the end, add some lemon juice.

Serve immediately.

Enjoy your meal!
