Simple and delicious scones. They are perfect for burgers.
In addition, I have a batch of ready-made rolls frozen for a rainy day 🙂
- 700 g of wheat flour
- 230 ml of lukewarm water
- 75 ml of lukewarm milk
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of sugar
- 30 g of fresh yeast
- 1 level teaspoon of salt
- 75 ml of oil
- 3 egg whites
additionally: 3 egg yolks for brushing on rolls and sesame seeds
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water with milk, add sugar and 2 tablespoons of flour. Stir the leaven and set aside in a warm place for 10 minutes.
Put the flour into a bowl. Add egg whites, oil, salt and leaven.
Mix everything, preferably a few minutes by hand, until the dough is smooth. Put the dough into a floured bowl and set aside for 1 hour to rise.
After this time, divide the dough into about 13-15 pieces, it all depends on how big rolls you want to achieve, I prefer slightly smaller ones.
Shape into rolls. Line the baking tray with baking paper and arrange the rolls at large intervals
Cover the buns with a cloth and leave to puff up for 30 minutes. During this time, heat the oven to 190 degrees C.
Before putting into the oven, brush the rolls with beaten yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
