Easy-to-make homemade Marinara sauce that you can prepare yourself ! The recipe includes tomatoes, chopped onion, garlic, basil, as well as olive oil and a little butter.
A perfect addition to spaghetti or tortellini, but also for pizza!
Ingredients
- 2 cans of tomatoes (San Marzano is the best)
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 1.5 cups finely chopped yellow onion
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 10-20g fresh basil (or dried basil if you don’t have fresh basil)
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and fry until soft.
Move the onion to one side of the pot, add the finely chopped garlic and fry for 1 minute until slightly golden and fragrant.
Add canned tomatoes and olive oil. Season with salt, add chopped or dried basil.
Bring to a light boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce thickens slightly, stirring occasionally. For about 15-25 minutes.
At the end, you can blend a little.
Serve the sauce warm with pasta, tortellini or over pizza. Enjoy your meal!
