As a child, I didn’t like Brussels sprouts, but I guess I matured for it. It is probably also influenced by the fact that I prepare it myself according to my taste.
A version for lunch or dinner that we like. It is full of flavors and aromas.
Ingredients
- 400g of Brussels sprouts
- 100g long-ripening ham (e.g. Black Forest ham)
- 1/2 red onion
- 10 cherry tomatoes
- 4 dried tomatoes in olive oil + 50ml of olive oil from the jar
- 4 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon dried onion
- a pinch of chilli flakes
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- about 50g of Parmesan cheese
We warm up the pan. We add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Cut the ripening ham into smaller pieces. Fry until browned and put on a plate.
Add the remaining olive oil (3 tablespoons) to the pan. Chop the red onion into feathers and put it in the pan. Fry until browned.
Peel the Brussels sprouts from the top leaves and cut them in half. We add to the onion. We can add some warm water. We fry for 5 minutes.
Cut the dried tomatoes into thin slices and add them to the Brussels sprouts together with the olive oil from the jar.
Cut the tomatoes in half and add them to the pan as well.
Fry everything for about 10 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are browned and soft. In the meantime, season with oregano, dried garlic and onion, chilli powder, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
At the end, add the fried ham and sprinkle with half of the Parmesan cheese and mix thoroughly.
Put on plates and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan cheese.
