Delicious, old-fashioned recipe!
It only requires 5 basic ingredients plus cinnamon and raisins, if you like them! It is filling, creamy and easy to make. However, it takes some time to complete it.
Ingredients
- 750 ml of whole milk
- 45g of sugar
- 100 g of long grain white rice
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 45g raisins (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
In a non-stick saucepan, combine milk , sugar, rice , salt and cinnamon (a thick bottomed milk pot is best)
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer slowly, uncovered, until the rice is tender and the mixture thickens. Stir often, it takes about 30 minutes (the pudding will become thicker as it cools).
Remove from heat, add raisins and vanilla, let stand a few minutes before serving.
Serve with fruit, cinnamon or nuts, for example!
