Turkey Taco Skillet

This easy and versatile Mexican turkey recipe is quick to make, freezable and you can be served several different ways.

You can really use this recipe in many ways. Add the prepared turkey to tacos, enchiladas, burritos or salads. There are so many possibilities.

Just remember to be careful with the chillies! The amount given in this recipe is for a very spicy dish, at least for me.

INGREDIENTS

Spices

  • 0.5-1 tbsp chili powder (test sharpness of taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground or grain cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, but will increase spiciness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper

remaining ingredients of the pan

  • 1 tablespoon of oil
  • 500g turkey mince
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can of tomatoes
  • 1 can of black beans
  • 1/2 bunch of green onions
  • tomato juice (optional)

Prepare the spices in a bowl. Mix. (you can only add some chilli and increase it later)

Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté for a while. Then add the turkey mince. Start frying the turkey over medium heat.

After a while, add the prepared spices and continue to stir, frying for about 5 minutes.

Drain the black beans and then put them in a pan with tomatoes (with juices). Mix ingredients in a pan until combined, then cook over medium heat.

Try it. If it is too spicy, add tomato juice. If not spicy, add chilli.

Dice the green onion. Add to meat and mix.

The dish is ready to be served.
